Five Suggested Ways to Prepare for the Typhoon
Pray
Before anything else, it is the top priority of a person who believes in God - to pray. Faithfully praying is the most powerful ways to communicate with the Deity that can bring His people into safety according to His will even in a such way we don't really understand. As we know that the merciful and loving God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent, we always acknowledge His will, believing that everything happens for a reason and according to His plan that helps us to become strong, enduring and resilient.
Secure
We need to protect ourselves from risks caused by typhoons. So, the earlier time we are able to prepare, the better. We may not suppose to get outside kung kelan nasa kasagsagan na ng bagyo.
Alert and be informed
It is an advantage kapag tayo ay alerto in most situations dahil nakagagawa pa tayo ng mga akmang paraan upang makaiwas sa sakuna.
Evacuation is one way we can get into safety but we must take in consideration as well the health risks of COVID-19 and or any contagious diseases, thus, needing us to follow the minimum health protocol standard. Risk Reduction Management and Rescue Team have the strategies that can help us.
Contact
Knowing authorities or person who can help is to have a contact with them. Alamin ang mga numero ng hotlines na pwedeng matawagan in case of emergency, especially the contact information of our local Risk Reduction Management and Rescue Team. . With such contacts, we can also make sure na sapat ang power charge ng ating mga cellphones, communication gadgets, or personal digital assistant (PDA). We need to also have the contact information of our our family members and immediate persons in our neighborhood.
Food and water
Ang "Go Bag" or "72-hour Kit" ay matagal nang ini-rerekomenda na magakaroon ang bawat tahanan or individual. Ito ay naglalaman ng mga ready-to-eat or easy-to-cook food packs, bottled water, medicines, personal necessities, pati na rin ang identification (ID) and important documents. Magagamit ito not only sa panahon ng bagyo, kundi sa iba pang instances ng natural calamities and emergencies.
Typhoon Rolly landfall in the morning of 1 November 2020 covering mostly the eastern parts of the Bicol Region and observed heading northwest expected to affect the Calabarzon and neigboring areas including the National Capital Region within the next 24 -36 hours.
From the Simple ways we do, it can create a greater impact in the situation we are facing right now as we channel ourselves to do our part making ourselves, families, and community safe and sound during this time of hardship.
